...how did this happen?! Where did my break go? And how is it no longer 2010?!
January 4th has crept up much faster than I expected it to, and taking a last minute week-long road trip to San Diego and Disneyland certainly expedited the last bit of my break.
I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed by all the random pre-tour things that must be accomplished before Tuesday, including but not limited to: purchasing traveler's insurance (which must be done 24 hours prior to my departure), looking for new show clothes, practicing Barrage music, cleaning my room, and making sure to see some more friends who are just in town for their winter breaks.
I guess the last thing I should really be doing right now is blogging...but I want to share a few pictures of my trip and what was, without a doubt, one of the most brilliant things to have unexpectedly happened on any number of road trips I've taken over the years.
The next time you're in San Diego on a Tuesday, I highly recommend a sunset picnic on Coronado Beach. More specific directions to be found in the pictures below.
San Diego Harbor. |
This is how clear and blue the sky was. |
Step 1: get snacks from the Coronado Island Farmer's Market held on Tuesdays (we bought cheese and almonds). Step 2: get supplementary food and utensils from Boney's Bayside Market (we bought crackers, salami, beverages, plates, etc.). |
Step 3: go find this brick wall on Coronado Beach, just near the famous Hotel Del Coronado. Steps 4, 5, & 6: eat food, enjoy great friends, and watch the sunset. |
With Shaina, Michael, and Marisa on Coronado Beach. |
The downside of being at Disneyland on a very rainy day? Wearing a poncho. The upside? Less people. |
With Christina, Lauren, Izzy, Sarah, and Ryan in line for the new, 3-D, Toy Story-inspired "Midway Mania" ride/game. |

Coronado Island is one of my favorites. Happy new year. Enjoy the road.
Oh how I lurve me some Coronado Island, and I have a pic on that very brick wall of which you speak. Your trip sounds like an absolute blast in every way. So glad you were able to get away and do it. I can't believe you're time is up either. Sad days for sure! But exciting for you to get back out on the road and regail us with even greater adventures.
I clearly haven't checked on your blog for a bit, and I had to laugh at the thought of you all in ugly sweaters playing your pretty music. How did that go?
I think your idea for a tv show is fabulous, and not really that "idealistic." I think there are soooo many people that would be happy to see that very thing on TV. How do we make this happen?
And finally...Dana said that you and Kaitlynns song on the sunday before Christmas was so beautiful it was just mind blowing. Wish i coulda seen that.
Love you Tay tay. Can't wait til we get to play again.
Oh, and I may or may not have just found the funniest picture of you, Danny Torgeson, Gred D. and Bryson from Joseph. You were all seriously BABIES! With the baby chub faces to prove it.
