I'll be using this blog to update friends, family, etc. about my time on the road with Barrage.
For starters, what is Barrage? Generally, I like to think of it as a "rock band" of sorts, composed of 6 violinists, 2 guitarists, and 1 drummer--however, the group also dances and sings while playing (the best comparison would be to something like Stomp or Blast). Moreover, Barrage focuses much of its work in alternative styles of playing (e.g. fiddling, bluegrass, jazz, rock, etc.).
To get a better idea of what it's like, you can check out Barrage's various websites:

Ever since I saw the first "cast" of Barrage back in 7th grade, I've wanted to perform with this group--and now, this childhood dream of mine is finally coming true! I'll be flying to Calgary, Alberta (in Canada--where Barrage is based) on Sunday to start training, and I couldn't be more excited.
Though I have yet to become accustomed to the rigors of life on the road, I hope to update this blog on a somewhat regular basis with photos, videos, and stories from my travels with the group (tentatively, our travels will take us to Europe, Mexico, and New Zealand over the next year). Also, I'll try my best to keep people informed of the tour schedule and when I'll be in various cities/states, as Barrage will be covering much of North America over the next year.
